Touch for Health

In the 1960’s a Detroit Chiropractor, Dr. Goodheart, began combining acupuncture theory with a variety of western discoveries that involved touch reflexes and muscle testing. He discovered that there was a relationship not only between meridians and major organs but also muscles.  He called his system Applied Kinesiology. Today it is taught exclusively to M.D.’s and Chiropractors.

One of Dr. Goodheart’s earliest students, Dr. John Thie, saw the potential of Goodheart’s system, and developed a simpler system for lay people. He called it Touch for Health (TFH).  Dr. Thie’s goal was to empower anyone interested in self-care to be able to use these simple techniques to help themselves, their family and their friends.

TFH kinesiology is a very effective system for stress and pain reduction. Through manual muscle testing, practitioners identify stress and imbalance in the energy flow through the body. Once identified, a variety of techniques can be used to release the stress in order to rebalance the system. This allows the body to return to a state where it can more easily heal itself through its innate healing processes.

All kinds of conditions, both chronic and acute, have responded to these natural methods. Physical pain can be reduced, mental performance can be dramatically improved, fears and unconscious sabotage programs can be released and more. Though Touch for Health is a holistic system that does not diagnose, treat or prescribe for any specific disease or condition, it helps to balance the whole system so the body can heal itself.

This class, like all Touch for Health classes,is based on the Touch for Health system of natural healthcare created by Dr. John Thie.  It is suitable for lay people and professionals.
